Chota is the provincial capital in Cajamarca, Peru, right on the Andes mountains, so mostly anywhere you go is uphill. Most of the people are self sustained farmers and therefore they eat what they harvest and that is potatoes. The Teens Take Action project that was supported with a $490 grant from World Connect's Kids to Kids Program in 2011 educated local high school students at Sagrado Corazon de Jesus about reproductive health. Life changing topics included: values, self esteem and decision making, sex and gender, adolescence and sexuality, pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, HIV and AIDS, abstinence, condoms and contraceptives, and alcohol and drugs.Explore other Projects
