SKILL ACQUISITION FOR VULNERABLE TEENAGE GIRLS AND OUT OF SCHOOL PERSONS IN OSIN-OLATUNJI

Skill Acquisition for Vulnerable Teenage Girls and Out-of-School Persons is taking place in Osin-Olatunji’. Osin-Olatunji is one of the communities in Osin kingdom in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State. Osin kingdom has five major towns with the headquarters in Osin-Aremu.Most of the women in the community don't continue their eduacation after secondary school, directly impacting the necessary skills or education in order to make sustainable income. The young girls in this community are vulnerbale to early marriage, gender-based violence, exortation. Skill Acquisition for Vulnerable Teenage Girls and Out-of-School Persons aims to address this challange by training 50 vulnerable teenage girls and out-of-school persons on catering, desktop publishing, and tailoring. Out of the 50 persons, at least 35 representing 70 percent will be females while 10 percent will be disabled persons and the remaining will be any other categories of persons in the community that have been deemed to require such training. The female participants will be those that have finished either primary and secondary school but could not further their education to higher institution. Participation will also be open to those teenage girls who do not have any level of formal education.
