Project Launch:

The Escuela Santa Cecilia (ESC) is a public primary school located in one of the poorest regions of Costa Rica along the Nicaraguan border. In this rural school of over 600 students, an “Art for Peace” project received an $500 grant from World Connect’s Kids to Kids program to purchase essential supplies and equipment as well as to build the capacity to fundraise to sustain a theatre arts group in the future. The goal of this “Art for Peace” project was to integrate various artistic expressions such as prose, visual arts, music, and dance into plays put on by the youth of this community. “Art for Peace” nurtured self-expression, leadership, personal development and education through the arts.
