Vertical Sack Farming in Kaduna
Project Launch: 12-1-20
The vertical sack farming project is a capacity building innovation that is aimed to improve food and nutrition security among rural communities in Kaduna State, Nigeria. Women farmers from 12 underserved communities will be trained in tomato sack farming techniques. By planting seeds in sacks of soil, the farmers can yield a high volume of tomatoes with relatively little space. The tomatoes will supplement families' nutrition and can also be sold at market. This project will offer women increased food security and financial stability.
