Project Launch: 2-28-19
In 2000, residents of Gomani, Kane, Mkonga, Makhalira, and Sawali villages joined forces to start a primary school because existing primary schools were 5 miles away and inaccessible due to flooded rivers during the rainy season. In 2002, Gomani built two classroom blocks and added more in 2010, accommodating students K-7. Even so, the school has only ever had one teacher house. Currently, 15 teachers work at the school, educating 902 students. This project will assist a teacher and his/her family by building another residence to attract and retain good teachers.
