Recycling Project CEBE Santa Cecelia
Project Launch:
CEBE Santa Cecelia is a school for students with mental and physical special needs, ages 5-21 years old. At the school, a local business called Acorsur Chincha will be implementing a recycling project to provide informative lectures to students, teachers, and parents on the benefits of reducing, reusing, and recycling. Every lecture will require for participants to bring in recyclable goods from their homes. The money that is made from the sale of the recyclable goods will be used to buy educational materials for the school.
At the end of every month, a week will be dedicated to recycling, "Recycling Week." Students will go door-to-door in their community to help collect recyclable goods and to educate the community on the importance of recycling. Allowing the students to go out in the community and be a voice for change will be empowering not only for themselves but for the members of the community who learn from their contribution. The participation in this program will allow for students to strengthen their confidence, self-esteem, and leadership while making their community a much cleaner place.
