Piggery farming
Project Launch: 4-24-19
A community organization called Abatiganda, meaning Courageous Team, was founded in 2018 to initiate and design a piggery farming project. At the start of the project, 100 members of Abatiganda will be given piglets to raise at home. After one year, they expect to redistribute the next litter of piglets to 100 more people. The pigs will be sold to generate income, or the meat will be a source of protein for community members, and the manure will be processed into fertilizer to improve harvests locally.
