Final Report: 9-25-24
The Chimkanda Under-Five Clinic project, led by Field Partner Moses January, has been a transformative initiative for the Chimkanda community in Malawi. Construction has successfully been completed and is directly impacting 746 individuals, encompassing all age groups who now have access to health services closer to home. Among these, 207 are women over 24 years old, and 209 are children under five, who are particularly vulnerable to health challenges. Through the clinic, women are expected to better manage child spacing as they access contraceptives from family planning services being offered. The project will in the long run contribute to the reduction of maternal and neonatal mortality rates as it cuts down on long travel distances to healthcare facilities by community members in addition to offering nutritional guidance that will combat malnutrition within the community.
