Chaseta Under-five Clinic Shelter

Environment Water Sanitation (EWS) Foundation will partner with the Chaseta community to construct an under five clinic shelter in the North Eastern part of Ntchisi District in Malawi. With a population of above 5,000 people, the clinic will increase coverage of health services such as immunizations, under-five clinic and prenatal services to the population of Chaseta area including children and women. Additionally, the general population will also gain access to public health information and first regimen treatment before processing to the main hospital 15 kilometers away.

In its quest to reduce health access barriers women and children face in Chaseta area, Environment Water Sanitation (EWS) Foundation partnered with World Connect to construct an under-five clinic in the area. Attached with the staff house, the clinic has ensured full availability of personnel to provide immunization, mass weighing, diet monitoring and malaria treatment for children and provision of family planning service, malaria treatment and some prenatal and postnatal services to women in the community. A total of 5,036 women and children are now accessing services closer home as opposed to traveling over 10 kilometers for the same before the clinic was constructed.
