Bumba Women's Bakery Expansion
Project Launch: 4-25-19
In 2016 in cooperation with a Peace Corps Volunteer, Bumba Women's Bakery received a $5000 grant from World Connect. With this grant, after 6 months, the women bakers had raised their daily earnings to $2 USD per day. This was an amazing achievement that granted them and their families basic necessities for life: medical insurance, school fees, clothing, and nutritious food. But most importantly was their enhanced in position to make independent decisions. The bakery is seeking a second larger grant to expand its market, reduce its the cost of production, and maximize profits.
