Project Launch:

Through the support of Kids to Kids, the children of Cartagena participated in vacation sports camps and learned the importance of sportsmanship and teamwork. The 20 kids who participated were joined by ex-athletes who shared their success stories with the children and motivated them to work their hardest and achieve the best. These 20 kids will now spread their love of sport to other kids throughout the community with the help of the sports equipment the camp provided. The kids are developing confidence and self-esteem in front of their peers which is a big step for a lot of them. After completion of the camp many parents and adults in the community have asked for advice on starting up sports camps of their own! Plans are being made for another camp to begin for summer vacation in hopes to give more children of Cartagena the opportunity to grow athletically, socially, and mentally.
