A $500 grant in 2011 supported La Red Educativa Ambiental de Olmos (the Environmental Educational Network of Olmos) in running monthly workshops on the themes of health, environment and risk management. These workshops were held in different places, to make the educational experience more interesting and to introduce teachers to places and sites they hadn't seen before. On one excursion the group met in the urban center of Olmos and took a minivan to a local zoo where were a trash management workshop was given by four Peace Corps Volunteers. The teachers enjoyed the change in scenery and the outing was good promotion for the local breeding and rescue center of native animals in Peru.Explore other Projects
