TOLICHI AND NALINGO BOREHOLE DRILLING PROJECT.

Reuel Naphtali Chimosola, a CorpsAfrica Volunteer will lead the project to drill a borehole at Tolichi and Nalingo community, in Chikwawa, Southern Region of Malawi. The new water source will reduce the 4 kilometer distance women currently travel to access clean and safe water as well as end the process of fetching water from unprotected sources which exacerbates waterborne diseases like cholera, diarrhea, and dysentery. 

 

Project Update: 10-12-23

Drilling of the borehole for Tolichi and Nalingo communities has been done, water found and a pump has been installed.  A total of 312 people from  64 households will for the first time gain access to the clean and safe water within 10 minutes walking distance as opposed to 2 hours.  The availability of this water is also expected to reduce water related diseases in the community while at the same reduce gender based related fights as women will not spend more hours fetching water.  This  project took one week to be completed as recorded as one of the fastest ever to be implemented.
