About this Project

Project Launch: 12-1-25

The Vocational Stars Project in Surulere, Lagos, is a community-driven initiative designed to tackle youth disengagement from education by equipping secondary school students with hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) and vocational skills. Many students currently see little value in formal schooling, with some aspiring instead to online scams. Through workshops, mentorship, and community exhibitions, the project will empower students to design real-world solutions, build marketable products, and develop entrepreneurial mindsets. With strong backing from teachers, parents, and school administrators, the project aims to ignite curiosity, improve school retention, and create pathways to economic opportunity, ensuring that young people, especially girls, graduate not only with certificates but with the confidence, skills, and innovations to drive positive change in their community.
