This project targets vulnerable households in Bumbogo Sector, a peri-urban area of Gasabo District where many residents face unstable incomes and limited employment opportunities, particularly women and youth. To address these challenges, the project promotes rabbit and poultry rearing as practical, low-cost livelihood options that require minimal space and use locally available resources. These activities provide quick returns through meat, eggs, and animal sales, while also improving household nutrition and small-scale agriculture through organic manure. The project emphasizes inclusion, sustainability, and community ownership by prioritizing women and poor households and using a pass-on mechanism that enables beneficiaries to share offspring with others. Overall, the initiative offers a scalable and community-driven approach to breaking the cycle of poverty and strengthening livelihoods
