Prismatic Vision - The Virtual Reality Classroom
Project Launch: 10-30-19
Prismatic Labs, a community-based organization in Costa Rica, has a plan to incorporate virtual reality (VR) into the classroom as a learning tool. With this World Connect grant, they will build a set of 15 VR headsets that will be used to expose students grade 1 to 12 to places that they don't typically have access to. Using existing open-source Google Expeditions, facilitators will show children museums, natural history sites, and communities and stories from around Costa Rica. They will begin at one school and then travel to other schools across different regions. Middle income schools will be charged a fee that will cover the expense of the program for them and for low income students to participate in the program at other schools as well.
