Msambaifa Primary School in T/A Msakambewa Dowa district will receive its first ever desks thanks to a collaboration between Mkwela VDC and Mudzi Connect. Using a $5,548.26 co investment, the project will procure 60 desks to be used by students in standards 7 and 8 benefiting 139 students in total out of which 76 are girls. These desks will significantly improve the learning environment, promote better hygiene and concentration, as well as enhance the overall quality of education for the targeted learners.
The Msambaifa School Desk Project, led by Mkwera Village Development Committee with support from Mudzi Connect, is transforming the learning environment for Standard 7 and 8 students. The initiative aims to provide 60 desks, enhancing classroom organization, hygiene, and student focus. To date, 50 desks have been procured and installed, benefiting students immediately. The community actively contributed cash and materials, while village heads played a key role in mobilization. As a result, student enrollment has increased from 455 to 520 learners, demonstrating the project’s positive impact on school attendance and overall motivation.
The Msambaifa School Desk Project, funded with $5,548.26, delivered 50 desks to two classrooms, benefiting 100 students (45 girls, 55 boys) in Standards 7 and 8. This upgrade has significantly improved the learning environment by replacing floor-based study with comfortable desks, enhancing student focus and participation. Teachers now enjoy a more organized space, which has improved classroom management and teaching quality. Both students and teachers have embraced the new desks, which are expected to foster better academic performance and contribute to a more attractive, sustainable school environment.
