A $494 grant supported the “Festival de la Juventud”, a day-long youth festival where young people of all ages can take part in activities such as roller skating, skateboarding, biking, 5K running race, an artisan craft sale, jewelry making, wizards’ chess, and live music, some of it provided by kid musicians. Students plan the festival and in the process gain project implementation skills, leadership skills, and self-confidence. Many individual schools have their own festivals in the community, but this festival marked the first time a community-wide festival was held. This project demonstrated what kids can do when they get involved in planning project.Explore other Projects
