About this Project
Youth Empowerment Towards Development (YETOD) will implement a $7,760.71 project to improve sanitation facilities at Uhoho Primary School in Chenyentha, Nkhata Bay District. The project will construct a five-room toilet block for girls with an attached changing room and a five-room toilet block for boys, addressing the school's severe shortage of sanitation facilities for its 620 learners. The lack of adequate toilets has contributed to increased absenteeism, particularly among girls during menstruation, and rising school dropout rates. The project will improve hygiene, learner attendance, retention, and academic performance while creating a safer and more dignified learning environment for all learners.
