Project Launch:

G.S. Murunda is a 12-year school that provides education to the less advantaged students of the surrounding community. This project will expand the school’s computer lab with nine new computers, a printer, projector, external hard drive and five modems for internet access, enabling students to sharpen their research, critical thinking and computer skills. Students and teachers will participate in a rigorous ICT training, learning how to maintain and repair the computers and equipment, increasing its lifespan and potential to impact students’ education for years to come.

Project Update

After being transported via truck for three hours on a dirt path, the nine computers were successfully delivered to G.S. Murunda. Computer classes will begin this month and scores from the national exam will serve as an indicator of the computer lab's impact. The whole community is extremely excited about the renovated computer lab, which is reflected in the number of new students who enrolled for the 2016 school year.

Final Report

The school has acquired and set up the nine computers in a lab that now will allow students to work individually on each machine.  Classes have also enabled the students to understand computer components, proper computing posture, and operations.

Now, we have no students sharing a computer because there is enough for each student to have their own.
