Project Launch:
With this World Connect grant, the Mademoiselle Foundation will conduct a conference for 3,000 girls at the post-secondary school level focused on pathways to higher education and financial independence. Of the participants, 100 girls will then be enrolled in a finishing school where they will receive vocational and leadership training. Ten participants of the project will eventually be linked to a mentor and five will receive start-up capital to start small businesses. A portion of the income will go toward sustaining the community organization. Additionally, the grant funds will support the renovation of the vocational classroom which will hold a library used to promote a reading culture.
