Changing the World One Book at a Time
Project Launch:
The young people of Tembladera, population 10,000, high above sea level in the valley of Jequetepeque in Peru, previously had no access to any books other than textbooks. When they read the few donated storybooks that make their way to the village, the children came alive. They asked their Peace Corps Volunteer for more, as they wanted to learn to read themselves. With a $500 grant from World Connect's Kids to Kids Program, the kids built established a library.Explore other Projects
