Building a Brand: Women-led Artisan Chocolate Business
Project Launch:
This project operates in Buenos Aires in Peru with the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Buenos Aires (ASDEME). This is the only female chocolate-making association in the region and for the past three years has been selling high quality artisan chocolates. Since it's conception, the organization has struggled with obtaining a brand name and logo, due to lack of finances. The association also struggled in the past year because an expensive and essential machine broke, and they needed to divert funds to repair it. Grant funds from World Connect will be a vital injection of capital, allowing the association to resume the process of obtaining a brand name and a logo, which will allow it to sell products in stores in the department's capital, where demand is highest.
Due to the setbacks the association has experienced, morale and momentum is at a low. This project will allow the women to benefit from confidence to get back on track and get their name back in the market. The project will renew a sense of possibility and inspire to women to continue working towards enjoying the recognition that they deserve by having their brand available in the larger market.
Project Update
The Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Buenos Aires (ASDEME) have officially designed a brand name and registered their logo. The women's spirits have been lifted and they are excited about advancing and expanding their chocolate business.
