Year: 2020
Country: Ghana
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Environment
Project Investment: $3,600.00

Project Launch: 1-6-21

Although women are important players in community natural resources management in Nkoranza District, they have limited access to and control over natural resources. This project aims to strategically ensure that women are included in community natural resource management, climate change actions, sustainable conservation and strategies designed to enhance food security and livelihoods. Women will be trained in climate smart adaptations such as crop diversity, composting, rainwater harvesting, and minimum tillage. They will also participate in creative and adaptive leadership training activities focused on building their leadership, teamwork, effective communication, resource mobilization and building resilience. The women will also establish a village savings and loans group as a strategic financial mechanism to support their work. This program will support the women in activating their own agency and balancing the gender equity in community natural resource management.
