SMAG (Saving Mothers Action Group) trainings have saved the livs of thousands of mothers and their babies in Zambia and elsewhere since introduced. This Charlotte Daniel Fund scale-up will allows health workers to implement more intensive training so that community health workers in Kalomo District, Zambia are able to prevent excess maternal and infant mortality in the region.

A total of 99 SMAG CHW volunteers received training on strategies for community sensitization. The training topics included postpartum hemorrhage, preeclampsia, HIV, sepsis, and family planning, all of which contribute to excess maternal and child mortality in Zambia.
