Kusoma Kenya
Project Launch:
Nyanza Province, a rural and poor area in Kenya suffers from high levels of illiteracy as well as a population struggling with some of the highest rates of HIV/AIDS and malaria in the country. Most people in the region are only able to speak their mother tongue, live in mud huts and usually only own one book, a Bible. This project will support 16 schools in the province to establish library space, train librarians, and create a plan for library management. It will also result in the shipping of thousands of books to Kenya for the libraries in partnership with the International Book Project.
