Catering Business
Project Launch: 1-27-16
Due to overfishing, the local government in Maite, San Juan has placed restrictions on fisherfolk, forcing them to seek alternative income-generating activities. One group of individuals pooled their savings to launch a catering business with great potential. Unfortunately, without some of the necessary equipment and adequate start-up capital, the business isn’t yet financially viable. This project will provide the group with cooking and catering supplies in order to grow their business and make it sustainable.
Final Report: 9/19/2016
The community recently completed its catering business plan which has led to renewed efforts to better organize and execute the business model to increase revenue. The highly season-dependent sales volume, however, has posed a challenge to the community in its attempts to maintain steady revenue.
