A $400 grant from World Connect’s Kids to Kids program purchased books and materials to re-establish a library that had been damaged by a fire previously in this Dominican community. The new resources expanded the programming for a children’s reading group that was run by a Peace Corps Volunteer who read to the children, had them read to each other, worked with them to act out scenes from stories they were reading, held arts and crafts activities, and perform puppet shows. The library also provides the space for monthly public readings for the wider community.
