Nyakayenzi Sewing Project Phase 2
Project Launch: 4-15-24
The project will provide sewing and knitting machines to 46 young women and girls who were trained in sewing and knitting through a phase 1 grant from World Connect in 2022. These women will graduate from this training and move on to create their own jobs by taking sewing and knitting orders from the community. While working, these women and girls will pay back the cost of their machine to the cooperative so that a new cohort of trainees that will enroll after them will also have access to start-up capital in terms of getting a sewing or knitting machine.
