Access to Water, Health and Sanitation Facilities in Sango-Ota
Project Launch: 1-15-20
A community in Ogun State is utilizing $2,309.47 to improve water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in two public primary schools. The schools will make improvements to their latrines, construct hand wash basins, and maintain water availability. There have been high rates of absences due to hygiene related illnesses, and these improvements will improve student attendance and learning. The project will also launch sanitation and hygiene campaigns, holding workshops for the community on the importance of hygiene practices. A neighboring community had reported an outbreak of cholera that claimed lives, so this project aims to prepare the community so they can prevent such an incident.
