Camp You Decide "Now Light the Fire"
Project Launch:
Thanks to a World Connect Kids grant, Camp You Decide will serve 40 teenage boys and girls living in an underserving area in San Martin de Nicoya in Guanacaste, the poorest community in Nicoya. It’s a stigmatized community and well-known for its social problems. The 40 chosen teenagers, however, are exceptions: active in promoting and participating in positive and healthy social activities as well as Service Learning project. Camp You Decide will focus on four themes: communication, volunteerism in the community, education, and leadership. Teens will learn about goal setting, values and personal health, decision-making, community service, team building, artistic expression, hiking, and respect for the environment through a three-day, two-night camp. The fortunate 40 will travel outside of their community and meet with other teenagers from other Salvation Army youth groups from various parts of Costa Rica.Explore other Projects
