Brigada Verde Bird Guides
Year: 2008
Country: Dominican Republic
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Education
Project Investment: $500.00
Project Launch:
Many youth in the Dominican Republic do not have the opportunity to learn about all of the impressive biodiversity of their country. In 2008, World Connect’s Kids to Kids program awarded a $500 grant to the Brigada Verde Bird Guides to provide materials in support of programming designed to cultivate increased interest and knowledge of birds, the environment, the tourism industry, and the English language among young people in the Dominican Republic. Young students received lessons about the birds and the environment and went on expeditions to see the wildlife around them. The goal of the project’s leaders was that participating kids walk away from the course not only with a graduating certificate but also with a better understanding and appreciation of the extraordinary environment around them.Explore other Projects
