Art in Action El Pital, Take Two!
Year: 2010
Country: El Salvador
Project Status: Funded
Impact Sector: Education
Project Investment: $433.10
Project Launch:
With Art in Action El Pital, World Connect provided technical support and additional funding for the continuation of two successful youth groups, one focused on theatre and the other on break dancing, both of which were established in the Art in Action El Pital project. As part of the project, the break dance group traveled to a boys home in the city of Santa Ana and conducted a six-week break dance workshop with the young boys. The theatre group chose to expand their repertoire of plays to perform and traveled to practice on a real stage with real sets and costumes. As part of the project, the theatre group placed sixth place in a national competition. Having access to opportunities in the performing arts has kept these youth involved in healthy activities, increasing their confidence, self-esteem and social skills.Explore other Projects
