The First 1000 Days Project

Year: 2016
Country: Rwanda

Project Description

The First 1000 Days is a national program in Rwanda designed to facilitate positive outcomes for infants, toddlers, and new mothers. The first three years of a child’s life are among the most important times for emotional, cognitive, and physical growth and may partly determine the future health of the child. This is why ensuring children receive the attention and care they need at this formative stage is key. This project will be coordinated in tandem with Cyabayaga Health Center and hopes to strengthen medical knowledge and best practices among staff at the newly constructed maternity ward.
