COVID-19: Small Business Support
Project Launch: 6-16-20
In Nicaragua, there has not been any national acknowledgment of the COVID-19 crisis or support for those struggling economically in this time. With this World Connect grant, the Red Empresarias de Nicaragua, a network of women entrepreneurs and business owners, will deploy much needed PPE and economic support. Twenty women heads of household will have the option between two COVID-19 preparedness and response packages. The first includes a plastic shield for shop windows, four masks, hand sanitizer, and $190 cash to support their business expenses. The second option includes carpet and disinfectant, four masks, hand sanitizer, and $200 cash to support their business expenses. As small businesses owners struggle to stay open, this organization aims to support businesses involved in food production and PPE distribution.
