Sage School Great Coin Race

2013
Sage School Great Coin Race
For the third year in a row, the Sage School in Foxboro, MA hosted a Great Coin Race, and for the third year in a row they increased their fundraising total. This year, Sage students raised $1,228.58 to support the Broadening Horizons project in El Salvador, which trained local teachers in the communities of Los Limones and Amapala to be leaders in a variety of youth-focused activities, such as science experiments and arts and crafts using recycled materials, as well as team building and leadership activities. These types of positive, youth-centered activities are extremely important in the two communities, which suffer from very high rates of high school dropout (75% in Amapala, 90% in Los Limones). Thanks to the effort and the fundraising of Sage students, teachers in Los Limones and Amapala will be able to encourage their students to stay in school by regularly leading fun, creative educational activities.
